Cases of mental disorder on the rise in kenya

According to statistics, one in four Kenyans is likely to suffer from a mental disorder at one point in their lives. The month of May is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and with the statistics I just gave, it is clear we can’t afford to stay silent on this matter. Tonight we are looking at Kenya’s failed Mental Health system, what ails it and what solutions are currently being formed to remedy it. Let me introduce my guest: Dr. Oscar Githua, the first Forensic Psychologist in East and Central Africa and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at USIU-Africa. We also have joining the discussion a mini audience or extended panel made up of students from USIU and the University of Nairobi.
