Last Sunday’s vlog explored Chris Froome’s extreme Giro d’Italia 2018 weight loss regime, and the huge calorie deficit he sustained over 9 days during the event in order to hit his target weight of 68kg for the mountain stages.
As a result the stage has been set to unleash the carbohydrates and replicate Froome’s nutrition and energy expenditure on his sensational breakaway and stayaway on the iconic Finestre, during Stage 19 of the 2018 Giro d’Italia 2018! This has formed part of my own research to figure out how to fuel for my own climbing events in 2021 – including The Struggle Dales, La Marmotte, Fred Whitton and the Haute Route Ventoux.
